Manchester by the sea. ( Oh, and a few random thoughts)

PS: This is not a movie review, this is me casually typing in the words that are coming out of my mouth starting now. And it's mainly about 'Manchester by the sea', but there's some other stuff too.  "I can't beat it" Two years back or something I saw a cut scene from 'Manchester by the sea', it was like an emotional scene involving Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams. It was so heartbreaking and since I kinda have a thing for sad movies I decided to watch it. So I search for the movie and see this poster :  I thought it was just like one of those sad romantic movies, you know like 'Blue Valentine', which I still haven't seen. So I dropped it. Two years passed, it came upon my shoulders to write a short write up about this same movie for a College thing. So I'm like okay, let's watch it anyway. 2 hours and 17 minutes later I am telling you, I haven't seen a movie which has portrayed the image and exact emotions of a broken m...

Directed by: John Madden Language: English Year: 2011 Genre: Drama, Comedy Starring: Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Dev Patel, Celia Imrie, Ronal Pickup Based on: These Foolish Things by Deborah Moggach Synopsis A decrepit hotel hosts seven British tourists who come to Jaipur on a holiday. Each one has a past and a new ambition. Their lives intervene with their host, who is also trying to get a grip on life. My view The Best Exotic Marygold Hotel is a retirement destination in Jaipur, India for the "elderly and beautiful". A group of seven British with seven different reasons come here.  1. Evelyn Greenslade - Forced to sell her London flat. 2. Michel Donelly - Hates foreigners, but in need of cheap hip replacement. 3,4. Douglas & Jean Ainslie - Not so happy couple and also has lost a bundle of money on their daughter's internet company. 5. Graham Dashwood - Had spent his happiest youth year...

The Pianist

Directed by: Roman Polanski Language: English Year: 2002 Genre: drama, historical drama Starring: Adrien Brody, Thomas Kretschmann, Frank Finlay, Emilia Fox Synopsis   During the World War II, an acclaimed Polish musician Wladyslaw faces various struggles as he loses contact with his family. As the situation worsens, he hides in the ruins of Warsaw in order to survive. My view ”The Pianist” is an intense drama film directed by Roman Polansky based on the autobiography of Wladyslaw Szpilman. The movie is set in the late 30s and 40s. It's about the story of Wladyslaw Szpilman, a Polish jew and his struggles to get through the Jew holocaust by the Germans.  This movie is not totally about the Nazi Holocaust on the Jews, it portrays the events occured to the protagonist (Szpilman). How he went through such horrible times, how the man survived such a massacre. When he first heard the news about the relocation of Jews, he decides not to le...
